This series presents weird, odd and ridiculous plays and screenplays as staged readings, with costumes, wigs, accents, pops and the occasional monkey suit.
The desire is the remove the stuffiness of many theatre staged readings and make them more performative – a show. We present them in bars or cafes, fully mic’d with a soundtrack, so you, the audience, can place drink orders or talk amongst yourselves, without worrying about disturbing anything or being forced to give feedback…
The readers/performers are The Dancing Monkey Players, usually consisting of: Michelle Brandenburg, Lonni Olson, Constantine X. Anastasakis, Filsan Dualeh, Wil Knoll and Melissa Tuplin.
